Well it so happens once you have little kids and their sticky little fingers get into all of your stuff (pretty stuff) like makeup and jewelry you start moving them to high shelves and forgotten boxes (the stuff not the kids) and after a little while you spend your days in a uniform (jeans+comfy shirt) and if its a good day add lipgloss to it, so to make Coco Chanel happy (and in accordance with this year's resolution) I have decided to pretty up my dresser in our new home (hoping it would equate to prettying up myself) and display all my long forgotten stuff, just have to figure out a way to keep it all camouflaged from my lil girl. Let me know if you have any tips!

I keep toiletries in pretty painted wooden trays/boxes. It makes cleaning easier and I wouldn't say it fully protects them from roaming children but certainly makes them less visible from their height. Good luck!
ReplyDeletethis sounds like a lovely idea. I find myself putting away a lot too.
ReplyDeleteDear Cyma,
ReplyDeleteI keep my make-up etc in cotten lined baskets at above child height although, my children are 30 and 28 now and have their own houses!!
I think that you should have your things out. I don't remember putting things away when mine were little and, I don't remember anything getting broken or messed up (well, not much anyway !!) XXXX
ohhh you have a dresser? jealous. i have no tips, my kids are part monkey so will get to everything and anything regardless of what i do!
ReplyDeleteI have to hide to do my makeup. If my 4 yr old daughter see's me she instantly runs up and wants to join in. It always ends up a mess and I just couldn't be bothered finishing...so I don't. Did Coco have kids?
ReplyDeleteGood luck Cyma, I'm not sure how you'll keep little fingers out of things. I know I had the same issue a few years ago. And no, Ms Chanel never had children...
ReplyDeleteCyma I don't have kids yet but if it makes you feel any better, I too am the type to dress up the dresser, not the person! I frustrate myself so much sometimes when I go shopping for clothes and come home with bedlinen! Homewares I can do; fashion I cannot x
ReplyDeleteI love this image - makes me want my own pretty place! Leigh
