Indian Elephant Birthday Party

Prudent Baby is one of my favourite blogs and a daily must read for me. Admittedly I have never tried the clever DIY and crafty ideas that they share everyday, only because I'm lazy like that, however I love looking/reading what the clever girls have been upto.
Here are some very sweet pictures of a 2nd birthday party for lucky girl Scarlet, which will give you a taste of all the creativity and fabulousness that is Prudent Baby.

Bird Themed Party!

I am planning my daughter's fourth birthday party these days, and as much as I would like to have a Alice In Wonderland Theme (she loved the movie), I think she and her friends should atleast be five to fully enjoy all that it would entail. So far there is a tie between a rubber ducky party or a birdie party, with a love heart themed, pink and red party close behind. And just today I came across these lovely pictures of a birdie party with red and pink theme, I simply love all the details, perfect for a little girl!

Birthday Party Details

As promised here are my daughter's third birthday party pictures. Her birthday party went very well except for a few hickups, but everyone had a real fun day and I guess in the end thats all that matters.
Since we had over 70 guests we had a formal sit down dinner at a restaurant. The place was huge so decorating it wasn't very easy. We set up the candy buffet and the cake cutting tables outside under fairy lights, lanterns and pom-poms and it looked beautiful, but sadly it started to rain and we had to move and setup everything (in 15 minutes) inside just before the guests arrived. Never trusting Melbourne weather again. So the tables couldn't be set up exactly like I had planned and the pom-poms couldnt be hung exactly on top of the candy buffet but all in all the place looked pretty amazing and the kids just loved the candy buffet.

I used Cristina Re's paper for the invites and went along with the same design for the rest of the decorations too. I also used personalised stamps and printed Cristina Re's design on the envelopes. I asked the guests to come dressed in the theme colours (green and blue) and almost all of them did and it looked great.

Sweet Treats

We are getting cupcakes made from Kellie of Sweet Treats for my daughter's birthday party which is on this weekend. Kellie had us over for sampling of different flavours and boy was I in for a sweet surprise. Not only did the cupcakes look divine, they also tasted great and we had a hard time choosing. My daughter loved the butterfly themed cakes and made us sing "Happy Birthday" as she thought it was her birthday today.

Also a huge thanks to all of you who left sweet (last time I'm using this word in this post, promise) comments and wishes for me, am feeling much better now. I have loads to do for Miss 3's party but will try to update as often as I can!

Lanterns and pom-poms!

I have made quite a few tissue pom-poms for my daughter's third birthday party, and I have been thinking about how and where to use them after the party as I didn't just want to throw them away. Then I came across these pictures and loved the look of these lanterns, garlands and pom-poms all clustered up. I would be re-creating something like this in her room after the party.

Candy Buffet

We are celebrating our daughter's third birthday in a couple of weeks. She is already three, but we didn't celebrate at that time as my mum was planning to visit us, she lives overseas and is finally here now. Miss 3 had some amazing suggestions--not (like having a dora themed party) but we finally agreed on a colour-themed (a bit of me) butterfly(a bit of her) party. The colours are green and blue (pastels). We would be having a candy buffet and these are the images I'm using as inspiration.
